Open session means anyone who purchases a ticket for the same time slot can join in!
While most axe throwing venues in Oregon lean toward first time clientele, we at PDaXe want to build a community. While traveling and teaching in the UK and EU we found that most venues follow this format and saw firsthand the connections that were made from it.
-
You can generally book places for everyone in your group when making your reservation, unless you are booking under your Thrower’s club membership or using a promo code.

Friday Throwdown is our weekly power hour sessions every Friday from 4pm, for $15.
It's designed to be fun whether you're brand new or ready to test your skills.
Each session includes coaching instruction, a beginner tournament and a mystery challenge, so you'll learn, throw, compete and have a little friendly competition along the way.
No experience is needed, but you must be 21+ and wear closed-toe shoes.
Your First Throw
Never thrown before? Here's what to expect from your first visit.
-
Perfect.
Many guests are first-time throwers.
Your coach will teach you everything you need to know.
-
No, Axe throwing is about technique, not strength.
Our coaches will help you find a throw that works for you.
-
LEARN → PRACTICE → PLAY → REPEAT.
Your coach will teach you three throwing techniques, then you'll practice until you feel comfortable. Once you're ready, you'll get plenty of free throwing time before jumping into fun games and challenges.
You'll play three different games throughout the session, with coaching and tips along the way to help you improve.
Sessions are 90 minutes, and you're never expected to be perfect from the start. We want everyone to learn, improve and compete without being rushed or left behind.
PDaXe uses an open-session format, so your session may include other individuals or groups. That's part of what makes PDaXe a community rather than just a place to throw axes.
-
Closed-toe shoes are required.
Comfortable clothing is recommended.
Avoid loose accessories that could interfere with throwing.
-
That's what coaches are for! You don't need to be strong, athletic or experienced. We'll help you find a throwing technique that works for you, and the games are designed to be fun whether you're hitting bullseyes or just trying to get the axe on the target!
Helping guests land their first successful throw is one of our favorite parts of the job and we make sure no one gets left behind.
-
Please arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled session. This will allow enough time to complete any waiver forms, and order any refreshments before throwing starts!
-
Try your best to arrive in advance of the session or on time! Your session starts with everyone together for a quick safety briefing and throwing instruction, so arriving late means you may miss some important coaching.
If you're running late, don't panic, still come in! We'll do our best to get you throwing safely when you arrive, but we can't extend the session or guarantee you'll be able to participate if you're more than 10 minutes late.
Your session will still finish at the scheduled time, so give yourself a few extra minutes for parking and getting settled.

Every participant who throws must complete their own waiver, including people booked as part of someone else's reservation.
-
The Thrower's Code is how we keep PDaXe safe, welcoming, and fun for everyone.
It comes down to seven simple ideas:
Listen to Your Coach
Know Where You Stand
Axes Only Go One Direction
Retrieve Axes Safely
Throw What You're Taught
Don't Show Up Intoxicated
Be a Good Human
-
Yes.
Personal axes are welcome provided they:
are suitable for recreational target throwing
are single-bladed
remain fully sheathed while entering and leaving PDaXe
remain sheathed whenever they are not on the throwing floor
Our coaches reserve the right to inspect and refuse any personal axe for safety reasons.
If you're unsure whether your axe is suitable, ask us before bringing it in.
-
Only if your coach teaches them.
Our coaches may introduce additional throwing techniques, including an underhand throw if time allows.
Please don't attempt unapproved trick shots.

-
We want PDaXe to be welcoming and accessible to as many guests as possible. Because axe throwing involves a specific throwing area, floor surface and physical movement, accessibility can depend on an individual's needs.
